CHITIPA UNITED TO FACE KARONGA UNITED IN FRIENDLY DURING INTERNATIONAL BREAK

Chitipa United will host neighbours Karonga United this Sunday in a friendly match at Chitipa Stadium as the FDH Premiership pauses for the FIFA international break.

The break gives clubs an opportunity to remain competitive and fine-tune their squads ahead of the return of league action. While attention will soon shift to the Airtel Top 8 quarter-finals, Chitipa United will not be part of the competition after finishing 11th in the 2025 season.

Basongo head into the match looking to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Mighty Wanderers. The side currently sits 13th on the FDH Premiership table with six points from six matches, having registered two wins and four losses.

The encounter will offer the technical panel a chance to evaluate players, manage squad fitness, and provide valuable game time to those returning from injury or pushing for a place in the starting eleven.

Meetings between Chitipa United and Karonga United have traditionally drawn significant interest from football fans across the northern region, and the clash is expected to provide an entertaining contest despite its friendly status.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 7 June 2026, at Chitipa Stadium, with kick-off set for 2:30 PM.

Tickets will be available at MK3,000 for the Open Stand and MK5,000 for the VIP section.

The club has called on supporters to come out in large numbers and support the team as preparations continue for the next phase of the season.
